A 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen attacked five people with a knife in the Polish city of Jaros\u0142aw, Podkarpackie Voivodeship. One of the victims later died, local newspaper \u00a0Gazeta Jaros\u0142awska<\/span> reported.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on the morning of Sept. 24 on the grounds of the Benedictine abbey on Benedykty\u0144ska Street. At around 9:30 a.m., police received a report that a man had attacked another person with a knife.<\/p>\n

Police officers who arrived at the scene detained the 31-year-old foreign national. According to preliminary information, several minutes earlier he had wounded four men and a woman.<\/p>\n

All five victims were taken to hospital. Police initially reported that three men had sustained serious injuries. According to Anna D\u0142ugosz, a spokeswoman for the Jaros\u0142aw police, their condition was life-threatening.<\/p>\n

Later, Gazeta Jar\u0142awska reported that one of the victims had died. According to the newspaper, some of those injured are clergy members. At the time of publication, police had not officially confirmed the death or disclosed the identities of those injured.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement agencies are establishing the exact sequence of events and the circumstances of the attack. No possible motive for the suspect has been reported so far.<\/p>\n
