US Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale<\/strong> thanked Poland for receiving 10 released Belarusian political prisoners who arrived in Warsaw on September 18.<\/p>\n

On X, he reposted a message by Pavel Latushka, deputy head of the United Transitional Cabinet and head of the National Anti-Crisis Management, who wrote about a meeting with the released prisoners.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, together with <\/span>Adam Halacinski, we met 10 former political prisoners released on September 16, who were deported from Belarus and who will be legalizing their stay in Poland. I thank John Coale<\/span> for making it possible for these people to be free. I am grateful to Poland\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, and the Polish Border Guard <\/span>for making their transfer to Poland possible, as well as enabling the process of their legalization<\/span><\/i>,\u201d<\/i> Latushka wrote<\/a> on X on September 18.<\/p>\n

Earlier, on September 16, following talks between John Coale<\/strong> and Aliaksandr Lukashenka<\/strong>, 25 people were released. They were taken from Belarus to Lithuania. In exchange, the United States will lift sanctions on Belleshumbumprom and Lakokraska. Coale also said that the release of political prisoners and lifting of sanctions would continue<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was reported that 13 of the 25 released political prisoners would remain in Lithuania<\/a>, 10 would go to Poland, and another two would travel to a different country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
