Former Belarusian military officer Dzmitry Zara<\/strong>, whom Belarusian security forces consider an analyst for Valery Tsapkala<\/strong>\u2019s team, is being held in a KGB pre-trial detention center, Nasha Niva<\/a> reports. The publication does not know how he ended up in Belarus.<\/p>\n

Zara was born in 1981 in Kobryn. He served in the Internal Troops and later continued his service in Maryina Horka. Toward the end of his military career, he held an administrative position at the 50th Mixed Aviation Base in Machulishchy, where he served until reaching military retirement.<\/p>\n

Zara left Belarus no later than April 2022 and settled in Poland. There, he worked as an industrial climber and as an instructor in parachute jumping.<\/p>\n

According to Nasha Niva, Zara joined Valery Tsapkala\u2019s team in 2022. According to people who knew Zara, Belarusian security forces accuse him specifically of working for Tsapkala. He is believed to have been involved in information gathering and analysis.<\/p>\n

In September 2022, Aliaksandr Lukashenka<\/strong> stripped Zara of his rank of lieutenant colonel by decree.<\/p>\n

After Tsapkala stepped back from active political activities, Zara continued working at heights and training people interested in parachute jumping. At the beginning of 2026, according to the publication, he suddenly disappeared from Poland, where he lived alone. It later became known that he was being held in a KGB pre-trial detention center and, the publication claims, had been subjected to torture.<\/p>\n

It is unknown exactly how Zara entered Belarus. Nasha Niva considers it most likely that he returned on his own. During the year before his return, Zara had been trying to legalize his status in Poland and obtain political asylum.<\/p>\n

Zara\u2019s last Instagram post appeared on February 3, 2026, and was devoted to the self-sacrifice of Jesus Christ. After that, he stopped posting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
