The \u201cBelarusians of Action\u201d faction in the Coordination Council has nominated Tatsiana Lukayanava<\/strong> as a candidate for the position of social policy representative in Belarus’s United Transitional Cabinet. She is the third candidate for the position.<\/p>\n

The faction notes<\/a> that Lukayanava has more than 25 years of professional experience in education, business, management, medicine and cashless payments. She worked as an administrator at a medical center for 11 years, and previously ran her own business and worked in sales and labor organization.<\/p>\n

After 2020, she became involved in neighborhood self-organization, mutual aid, and support for people affected by repression, political prisoners and their families.<\/p>\n

According to her associates, Lukayanava was detained, lost her job and was forced to leave Belarus in 2024. She continues to work with people facing political persecution, including as a mentor for the \u201cVolnyja\u201d initiative.<\/p>\n

In her program, she proposes focusing the work of the representative’s office on supporting political prisoners, released prisoners and their families, providing medical and psychological rehabilitation for people affected by repression, assisting Belarusians in forced emigration, as well as helping with employment, retraining and a return to independent living.<\/p>\n

Lukayanava also proposes developing cooperation with Belarusian civil society organizations, businesses and international partners, and preparing social rehabilitation models for a future democratic Belarus.<\/p>\n

The program’s stated main principle is that the representative’s office should not duplicate the work of existing Belarusian initiatives. Instead, it should combine their capabilities and use the political status of the United Transitional Cabinet to address issues requiring institutional or international involvement.<\/p>\n

Lukayanava will present her program and answer questions from Coordination Council delegates at an open hearing.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Veranika Stankevich<\/strong><\/a> and Yuliya Mitskevich<\/strong><\/a> were nominated for the position of social policy representative in the United Transitional Cabinet.
