On Monday, representatives of EU countries at the Council of the European Union agreed to extend them for only seven days.<\/p>\n<p>They will try to reach an agreement again today. RFE\/RL correspondent <strong>Rikard Jozwiak<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RikardJozwiak\/status\/2100849379212976252\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The sticking point once again was restrictive measures against individual Russian oligarchs. Slovakia and Luxembourg want <strong>Alisher Usmanov<\/strong> and <strong>Mikhail Fridman<\/strong> removed from the sanctions lists, while France wants only Usmanov to be removed.<\/p>\n<p>The sanctions have currently been extended until Sept. 22.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The extension of European Union sanctions against Russia is facing difficulties.
