Vitebsk customs officers thwarted two attempts to bring hashish into Belarus during an operation on a section of the border with Russia. In both cases, the suspects were Belarusian citizens.<\/p>\n

According to the State Customs Committee, one man was a passenger in a passenger Skoda. A sniffer dog alerted officers to the presence of prohibited substances in the vehicle. A total of 12.47 grams of hashish was found in a cigarette pack lying on the floor behind the front seat.<\/p>\n

The second man was driving an Opel Vectra. Customs officers found 2.3 grams of hashish in the vehicle\u2019s trunk.<\/p>\n

Criminal cases have been opened.<\/p>\n
