This week, human rights defenders learned of another detention in Navapolatsk.<\/p>\n<p>Details about the detainee\u2019s identity and the circumstances of the persecution have not yet been disclosed, so it is too early to speak of specific charges, the human rights center \u201cViasna\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/viasna96\/36070\">writes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Human rights defenders note that detentions are taking place in different regions of Belarus. As of June 2026, at least 200 people convicted in the case were known to have been identified, although the actual number of people involved is significantly higher.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, detainees were charged with \u201cfacilitating extremist activity\u201d under Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code. People were given various punishments \u2014 from \u201chome confinement\u201d to actual prison terms. There have also been known cases of pressure on detainees and <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/some-defendants-in-hajun-case-offered-chance-to-avoid-prosecution-through-payments-rights-group-says\">attempts to force them to \u201cbuy their way out\u201d<\/a> of criminal prosecution through so-called \u201cvoluntary donations\u201d to state institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBelarusian Hajun\u201d is an OSINT monitoring project tracking the military activity of Russian and Belarusian troops. The monitoring group was established before the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war by activist <strong>Anton Matolka<\/strong>. In early February 2025, security forces gained access to a chat with the project\u2019s bot.
