According to the office, during the first six months of the year it submitted 36 applications to courts seeking to have information materials designated as \u201cextremist materials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following applications by Minsk prosecutors, \u201cextremist materials\u201d status was assigned to content published on 14 Instagram pages, 13 Threads accounts, five Telegram channels and\/or chats (bots), two Facebook accounts (communities), one TikTok account, one YouTube channel, one website and one VKontakte page.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors separately emphasized that their applications served as the basis for adding the accounts of well-known politicians to the list of \u201cextremist materials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cFor example, following applications by prosecutors, the information products of the \u2018Libertarian Movement of Belarus\u2019 community were recognized as extremist, including the \u2018Libertarian Movement of Belarus\u2019 Telegram channel, the \u2018Libertarian Movement of Belarus\u2019 pages on VKontakte and Facebook, the \u2018Franak Viacorka,\u2019 \u2018\u0410\u043d\u0430\u0442\u043e\u043b\u044c \u041b\u044f\u0431\u0435\u0434\u0437\u044c\u043a\u0430\u2019 and \u2018\u0421\u0432\u044f\u0442\u043b\u0430\u043d\u0430 \u0426i\u0445\u0430\u043d\u043e\u045e\u0441\u043a\u0430\u044f\u2019 accounts on Threads, and the \u2018zmagarenok\u2019 page on the TikTok social entertainment platform,\u201d<\/i> the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, four books were designated as \u201cextremist materials\u201d following applications submitted by prosecutors to the courts.<\/p>\n<p>Minsk prosecutors also secured the removal from online platforms of offers to sell 61 publications included on the list of banned materials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Minsk City Prosecutor\u2019s Office has reported on its efforts to pursue dissent and the political opponents of Aliaksandr Lukashenka online.
