The controls will remain in place for one month, starting on Aug. 1.<\/p>\n<p><em><i>&#8220;The Ministry of the Interior has ordered the reintroduction of controls at the maritime and air borders with Spain. The decision was taken following a meeting of the Committee for the Analysis of the Migration Situation and Border Security, which I chaired this morning at the Ministry of the Interior,&#8221;<\/i><\/em> Italian Interior Minister <b>Matteo Piantedosi<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Piantedosim\/status\/2083246548469653663\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Italy will also strengthen controls along its border with France.<\/p>\n<p>The measures are intended to verify the legality of the movement of non-EU nationals within the Schengen area, Piantedosi said.<\/p>\n<p>In recent days, tens of thousands of migrants have entered Spain&#8217;s North African enclave of Ceuta illegally from Morocco.
