A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankevich<\/b> is on a visit to Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

On July 20, the delegation met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev<\/b> of Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

The sides discussed ways to strengthen Belarusian-Uzbek relations and strategic partnership, and noted the productive outcomes of Mirziyoyev\u2019s official visit to Minsk on July 8\u20139.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticular emphasis was placed on the importance of the strict and timely implementation of the adopted Action Plan, which provides for increasing bilateral trade to $2 billion and actively advancing cooperation projects in key sectors of the economy,\u201d<\/i> the Belarusian government\u2019s press service reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The parties also discussed the possibility of applying Belarusian expertise and competencies to the construction of Uzbekistan\u2019s first nuclear power plant.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis includes expert support during the design, construction and operation of the future plant, training national specialists for the sector, and launching joint programmes between \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0444\u0438\u043b\u044c\u043d\u044b\u043c\u0438 universities,\u201d<\/i> the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said<\/a>.<\/p>\n
