The Ministry of Defence is holding a combat diver training exercise on the Dnieper River near Mahiliou. Around 50 service members from military units across the country are taking part.<\/p>\n

“Service members carry out dives day and night using both open- and closed-circuit diving equipment. Underwater, they conduct seabed reconnaissance, cut through wooden piles and metal rods, and search for, rig and recover various objects,”<\/i><\/em> the Ministry of Defence’s press service said.<\/p>\n

Particular attention is being paid to operations in extreme conditions, including limited visibility, strong underwater currents and other challenging environments.<\/p>\n

At the end of the training exercise, each service member will undergo testing to obtain or confirm their diver qualification class.<\/p>\n
