Belarus’ Interior Ministry has reported<\/a> that police dispersed a car festival in the Uzda district of the Minsk region. The operation was prompted by complaints from residents about traffic disruption.<\/p>\n

According to the ministry, the event was intended as an exhibition of drift cars. It had not been authorized by the authorities, and participants had been invited through social media.<\/p>\n

Police officers who arrived at the scene found more than 250 vehicles parked along the R23 highway near the village of Trastsiniets and around 600 people gathered at sites in a nearby forest belt.<\/p>\n

“Police officers informed those present that they had to leave the site of the unauthorized gathering, while traffic police took measures to stabilize road traffic,”<\/em> the press release said.<\/p>\n

Administrative cases against the organizers and the most active participants have been referred to court.<\/p>\n
