Customs officers at the Brest border crossing detained a 31-year-old passenger on a regular bus for attempting to smuggle cocaine into Belarus, the State Customs Committee said.<\/p>\n

The man passed through the green corridor and declared that he was not carrying any goods subject to declaration or prohibited from crossing the border. However, a service dog alerted officers to the possible presence of illegal substances. During an inspection of his luggage, customs officials found a package containing a white powder hidden inside an empty medicine bottle.<\/p>\n

The package was wrapped in paper featuring American actor and director Al Pacino<\/b> portraying a drug lord in the film “Scarface.”<\/p>\n

According to an expert examination by the State Forensic Examination Committee, the seized substance contained 0.69 grams of cocaine.<\/p>\n

Brest Customs has opened a criminal case on charges of illegally transporting narcotic substances across the state border. The offense carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n
