Acting Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Valerii Vavryniuk<\/b><\/strong> conducted a working visit to units responsible for guarding the Ukrainian-Belarusian section of the border.<\/p>\n

He inspected the organization of border guard operations under martial law, paying particular attention to the readiness of units to respond to potential threats and to the further strengthening of defence capabilities. The head of the State Border Guard Service reviewed the condition of border engineering infrastructure and fortifications in Volyn and Rivne regions, as well as the operation of command and observation posts and the provision of equipment and weapons to service members.<\/p>\n

The agency chief also visited hard-to-reach sections of the border, including the marshlands and waterways of Polesia, where he familiarized himself with the specific challenges of organizing service in densely forested areas and difficult terrain.<\/p>\n

Following a joint meeting with military commanders, representatives of regional military administrations and leaders of border communities, priority tasks were identified. These include further engineering development of border sections, improving the technical capabilities of units, including video surveillance systems, expanding counter-drone capabilities, maintaining continuous monitoring of the situation and ensuring readiness to respond rapidly to any changes.<\/p>\n

Vavryniuk also awarded departmental honours to service members who participated in the defence of Ukraine in combat zones and to those who continue serving on the border with Belarus.<\/p>\n

“Protection of the northern direction remains an important component of Ukraine’s national security system. Border guards continue to strengthen the frontier, improve the organization of service and do everything necessary to ensure that the state border remains reliably protected,”<\/i> the State Border Guard Service press office said<\/a>.<\/p>\n
