Belarusian border service officers detained two citizens in Dzyarzhynsk on June 16 for transporting a psychotropic substance. The detention took place during operational search activities aimed at disrupting a drug supply channel into Belarus.<\/p>\n

A forensic examination established that the seized substance contained mephedrone and 4-CMC. The inquiry body of the Smarhon Border Group has opened a criminal case under an article covering the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The detainees face up to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

Operational and investigative measures to identify all individuals involved and uncover channels used to supply psychotropic substances to Belarus are ongoing, the State Border Committee of Belarus said<\/a>.<\/p>\n
