“Road to Kurapaty” Film by Belarusfilm Declared “Extremist”<\/p>\n

The Leninski District Court of Hrodna has designated as “extremist material” the film “Road to Kurapaty”, produced in 1990 by the Letapis studio of Belarusfilm<\/b>. The film is currently available on the YouTube channel “Sergey”. Two other videos from the same channel were also added to the list of extremist materials: “Belarusian Resistance for a Free State!” and “Stalin Line”.<\/p>\n

The director of “Road to Kurapaty” was Mikhail Zhdanouski<\/b>, who passed away on October 20, 2023.<\/p>\n

The screenplay was written by Mikhail Zhdanouski<\/b> together with Aliaksandr Lukashuk<\/b>. Zianon Pazniak<\/b> took part in the making of the film. The cinematographer was Siarhei Piatrouski<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The film received a State Prize. In the early 1990s, it was screened throughout the Soviet Union.<\/p>\n

“Road to Kurapaty” is a documentary testimony to the crimes committed by the Bolshevik regime against people.<\/p>\n

The authorities also added to the list of extremist materials the Instagram account of Janusz Hawryluk<\/b>, a Polish citizen, graduate of the Belarusian Philology Department at the University of Warsaw, and founder and director of the Belarusian film festival Bulbamovie.<\/p>\n
