The court also ordered him to pay the victim 50,000 zlotys in compensation.<\/p>\n<p>The sentence includes time already spent in pre-trial detention.<\/p>\n<p>The assault took place on July 21, 2024, outside a bar in Jarocin. The defendant, who practised martial arts, struck the victim in the head with his fists, causing severe injuries. Forensic medical experts determined that the injuries were life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p>Police identified and detained the suspect. <b>Maciej Meler<\/b>, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor\u2019s Office in Ostr\u00f3w Wielkopolski, said the man had been charged with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm. Under Poland\u2019s Criminal Code, the offence is classified as a serious crime. The suspect was placed in custody after being charged. He did not admit guilt.<\/p>\n<p>The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
