During the event, a temporary city is created in which almost everything that happens is entirely produced by its residents. Contemporary artworks, often of fantastical forms, are installed in the desert. Some of them are burned by their creators before the festival ends.

The culmination of the festival is the burning of a giant human-shaped sculpture.

This year, Burning Man will take place in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert from August 30 to September 7. The festival’s central theme is creative interpretations of the cosmic tree, although art installations are welcomed and encouraged throughout Black Rock City regardless of whether they reflect this year’s theme.

Subscribe to Reform.news cultural news on Telegram

The Belarusian MARA camp will once again be part of the Burning Man festival. “Our debut at Burning Man last year caused a real sensation.
