Among them is Belarusian citizen <b>Stanislau Pryhodzich<\/b>, who was sentenced in absentia by the Homiel Regional Court in May to <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/homiel-resident-sentenced-in-absentia-to-five-years-in-prison\">five years in a general-regime penal colony<\/a> and fined 4,500 Belarusian roubles.<\/p>\n<p>Pryhodzich was found guilty under articles covering incitement of hatred, participation in an &#8220;extremist formation&#8221;, insulting Lukashenka, insulting a government official and discrediting Belarus.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;extremist list&#8221; now contains 6,663 names.<\/p>\n<p>Belarusian authorities regularly use extremism-related charges to target political opponents and dissent more broadly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Interior Ministry has added 13 more people to its &#8220;List of Citizens of the Republic of Belarus, Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons Involved in Extremist Activity&#8221;.
