The summonses concern current and former students as well as faculty members, according to the human rights centre <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/viasna96\/35242\">Viasna<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A criminal case has been opened in Belarus in connection with cooperation with EHU. There have already been reports of <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/security-forces-conduct-searches-and-interrogations-of-people-linked-to-ehu-rights-group-says\">searches and interrogations of individuals<\/a> affiliated with the university.<\/p>\n<p>Belarus&#8217; Supreme Court previously designated the <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/supreme-court-declares-european-humanities-university-an-extremist-organisation\">Vilnius-based European Humanities University and its structural subdivisions as an &#8220;extremist organisation&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office, the university prepares Belarusian youth <em>&#8220;to implement Western scenarios for transforming the political system and promoting so-called democratic values and &#8216;alternative&#8217; interpretations of historical, cultural and other events.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People affiliated with the European Humanities University (EHU) are being summoned for what are described as &#8220;interviews&#8221; with the KGB.
