He was found the following day. The man again attempted to resist. At the time, it was reported that the police patrol had responded to a call and <em>&#8220;noticed a person on the street matching the description of a suspect&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>According to today\u2019s press release from the Investigative Committee, the police unit had been dispatched specifically to detain that 47-year-old man.<\/p>\n<p><em><i>&#8220;On the eve of the incident, the defendant left an insulting \u2018message\u2019 addressed to law enforcement officers on the porch of the Byerazino District Department of Internal Affairs building.<\/i><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><i>After establishing the identity of the offender, a police unit was dispatched to bring him to the internal affairs department. While resisting detention, the man displayed extreme aggression and suddenly attacked a police officer with a knife, after which he fled into a nearby forest area&#8221;<\/i><\/em>, the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The injured officer was taken to hospital, where he required prolonged treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was found the following day. He again resisted and attempted to attack police officers with a knife, after which they used firearms.<\/p>\n<p><em><i>&#8220;During the preliminary investigation, it was established that over a long period the resident of Byerazino had posted materials of an extremist nature on his social media page, thereby undermining the authority of state institutions and discrediting law enforcement officers.<\/i><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><i>Information was obtained that over the past 20 years the man had not been officially employed and had only received state benefits for caring for a relative&#8221;<\/i><\/em>, the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant remains in custody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Investigative Committee has completed its investigation into the incident in which a police officer was injured in Byerazino.
