{"id":542134,"date":"2026-05-14T11:17:48","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T08:17:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=542134"},"modified":"2026-05-14T11:42:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T08:42:05","slug":"gubopik-detains-belarusian-over-comment-saying-stalin-killed-more-people-than-addy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/gubopik-detains-belarusian-over-comment-saying-stalin-killed-more-people-than-addy","title":{"rendered":"GUBOPiK Detains Belarusian Over Comment Saying \u201cStalin Killed More People Than Addy\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>The Interior Ministry reported the detention of a 21-year-old resident of the Vitsyebsk region on charges of inciting hatred and discord.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Interior Ministry, the young man held \u201cnationalist and protest views\u201d and posted comments and images on social media <em>\u201cabout harming veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as he believed there was no heroism in their actions\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Interior Ministry cited one of the detainee\u2019s comments (spelling and punctuation preserved): <em>\u201cThe meme is funny, but there\u2019s no need to make heroes out of them, they fought for the Gulag and executions, and if you count it all up, Stalin killed more people during his rule than Addy and that\u2019s obvious\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe also posted photographs featuring a portrait of Adolf Hitler on social media with the aim of glorifying his personality,\u201d<\/em> the Interior Ministry <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/pressmvd\/22479\">claims<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The young man was detained by officers of GUBOPiK with force support from the Vityaz special unit.
