Overall, however, he said relations between Minsk and Moscow continue to move in a \u201cpositive direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cThe tasks ahead are serious. We need to improve quality. And, unfortunately, our manufacturers are facing issues because, due to the tighter monetary policy, it has become more difficult for Russian consumers to purchase our goods. But we also must not fall behind in this regard. We are working on the Belarusian side as well to offer our own schemes so that the trade turnover volumes achieved last year \u2014 nearly $54 billion \u2014 will be at least the same this year, or even higher,\u201d<\/i> he said, according to BelTA.<\/p>\n<p>The ambassador noted that there is <i>\u201csome decline in the Russian market,\u201d<\/i> which Russian media have already been reporting on. In particular, this concerns engineering products as well as <i>\u201cproducts requiring large investments.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cOf course, this cannot but affect us. But the share we occupy in the Russian market \u0432\u043f\u043e\u043b\u043d\u0435 can allow us, through improved quality and the offering of services and financial instruments, to prevent a decline,\u201d<\/i> the ambassador said.<\/p>\n<p>Seliverstau also said the embassy continues to work with Russian counterparts on the issue of introducing additional controls on supplies from Eurasian Economic Union countries.
