The action\u2019s \u201corganising committee\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.com\/bp_belarus?w=wall-182752513_404\">said<\/a> this on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of the march, organisers invited people to come with portraits of relatives to Victory Square to lay flowers.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Due to the fact that the Minsk City Executive Committee did not permit the \u2018Immortal Regiment\u2019 march in the city of Minsk, we invite you on May 9, 2026, with portraits of your relatives \u2014 participants of the Great Patriotic War \u2014 to lay flowers at the Victory Monument and the Eternal Flame at Victory Square in Minsk. Gathering at the House-Museum of the First Congress of the RSDLP on May 9, 2026 at 11:30,&#8221;<\/em> the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, pro-Russian activist <strong>Andrei Gerashchenko<\/strong> had <a href=\"https:\/\/moypolkbelarus.by\/novosti-1\/post\/bessmertnyj-polk-2026-v-respublike-belarus\">asked<\/a> for permission to hold \u201cImmortal Regiment\u201d marches in Belarusian cities.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDue to the shared approach to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War, we appealed to the authorities of the Republic of Belarus with a request to allow Russian compatriots, citizens of Russia and willing Belarusians to hold an \u2018Immortal Regiment\u2019 march as part of the May 9, 2026 celebrations in Minsk, regional centres and major cities of the Republic of Belarus.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We believe that the \u2018Immortal Regiment\u2019 march should be an element of the nationwide campaign \u2018Belarus Remembers\u2019. The inclusion of \u2018Immortal Regiment\u2019 units in the \u2018Belarus Remembers\u2019 \u043a\u043e\u043b\u043e\u043d\u043d\u044b confirms the unity of Russia and Belarus, Russians and Belarusians in marking Victory Day.
