On the evening of May 1, Lithuanian border guards intercepted two drones carrying cigarettes that had flown in from Belarus, the country\u2019s State Border Guard Service reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A border patrol on duty near the village of Versekele heard the sound of a drone and spotted an aircraft moving away from the border deeper into Lithuanian territory. The drone was forced to land. A package containing 200 packs of cigarettes was attached to it.<\/p>\n

A second drone was detected three hours later by a video surveillance system near the village of Prudelis. It was also brought down using anti-drone equipment. The unmanned aircraft was carrying two boxes containing 1,000 packs of cigarettes.<\/p>\n

The total value of the cigarettes is estimated at 6,612 euros. Two administrative cases have been opened.<\/p>\n
