At around 07:00 on Friday, Russian forces carried out a drone strike on a minibus in the Dniprovskyi district, reported<\/a> city administration head Yaroslav Shanko<\/b><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to him, a worker of a municipal enterprise of the Kherson City Council and a woman whose identity is being established sustained fatal injuries. A further seven passengers \u2014 six men and one woman \u2014 were injured. Four of them are municipal workers. All are currently in hospital with preliminary diagnoses of blast injuries.<\/p>\n

Later, the Kherson regional military administration reported<\/a> another casualty resulting from the attack. A 55-year-old employee of a city hospital sustained a blast injury, concussion and shrapnel wounds to the head. She has been hospitalised in a moderate condition.<\/p>\n

Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Olexandr Prokudin<\/b><\/strong> said<\/a> that Kherson came under a massive drone attack on Friday morning. A large number of UAVs were deployed simultaneously, including FPV drones, \u201cMolniya\u201d drones and fibre-optic-controlled devices.<\/p>\n

“Our military are doing everything possible to counter this threat. At the same time, the risk of further massive attacks remains high”<\/em>, he said.<\/p>\n

“All those injured in the attack are civilians, and the Russians were fully aware of this. In effect, such a brutal \u2018safari\u2019 on people is taking place daily in our frontline and border settlements. In Kharkiv, a drone struck a residential high-rise building. There were strikes on energy infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region. Strikes were also carried out in the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson and Donetsk regions”<\/em>, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/b><\/strong> said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to him, over the past week Russia has launched around 1,600 attack drones, nearly 1,100 guided aerial bombs and three missiles against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“The Russians are trying to overload our air defence with massive attacks, which is why the supply of missiles is crucial every day. It is also important that pressure on the aggressor does not weaken, because any easing of existing sanctions only replenishes the Russian war chest, which they spend on the war”<\/em>, the Ukrainian leader said.<\/p>\n
