The verdict was issued by the district court in Bia\u0142a Podlaska, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nadbuzanski.strazgraniczna.pl\/nos\/aktualnosci\/71522,SG-i-KAS-zatrzymaly-przemyt-papierosow-o-wartosci-4-mln-zl-Kierowca-skazany-praw.html\">the Nadbu\u017ca\u0144ski Border Guard unit reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Belarusian worked as a driver. When crossing the Belarusian-Polish border, cigarettes worth 4 million zlotys (more than $1 million) were found in his truck, concealed in bags of pellets. The driver did not admit guilt in the attempted smuggling.<\/p>\n<p>The court sentenced him to one year and two months in prison and a fine of 160,000 zlotys (about $44,000). The truck was confiscated as an instrument of the crime.
