During the occupation of the BSSR, he led a platoon of the first company of the 12th police battalion. This paramilitary unit carried out punitive operations against civilians. Prosecutors established that Gecia\u00advicius was responsible for more than 6,000 victims, including children. After the war, attempts were made to bring him to justice, but without success.<\/p>\n<p>Antanas Gecia\u00advicius died in 2001.
