Investigators say the pensioner was recruited in July 2022 by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;For money, he began collecting information about local police officers: personal data, phone numbers \u2014 everything that could be used for pressure and provocations. Subsequently, this could be used to involve law enforcement officers in anti-state activities in the interests of foreign special services&#8221;<\/i>, the committee said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/skgovby\/15372\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the man was charged over comments that incited <em>&#8220;national hatred and discord against persons of Russian nationality&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The man has been charged under Part 1 of Article 356 (treason) and Part 1 of Article 130 (incitement of racial, national, religious or other social hatred or discord) of the Criminal Code.
