In the run-up to the holiday weekend, the number of people wishing to leave the country has risen significantly on the Belarusian-Polish border, as Belarusians traditionally travel abroad during these days to visit relatives and burial sites.<\/p>\n<p>The heaviest traffic is at the Brest checkpoint, where around 900 passenger cars were waiting in line today.<\/p>\n<p>The State Customs Committee complained about limited processing capacity on the Polish side. According to the agency\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/customs_bel\/12321\">statement<\/a>, Poland is accepting only 30\u201340% of the possible 1,700 passenger cars per day in one direction.<\/p>\n<p>It is currently possible to travel to European Union countries by passenger car through six checkpoints: on the Latvian border \u2014 Hryharoushchyna, on the Lithuanian border \u2014 Kamenny Loh and Benyakoni, and on the Polish border \u2014 Berastavitsa, Bruzgi, and Brest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ahead of Radonitsa, Belarusian customs authorities have strengthened operations at border checkpoints by organizing additional workstations and increasing the number of staff on duty shifts.
