The famous painting “The Walk” by artist Marc Chagall<\/b><\/strong> will be brought to Minsk this week. The painting will become the central exhibit of a unique temporary exhibition opening at the National Art Museum in early April, the Minsk-Novosti agency reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The painting belongs to the State Russian Museum. “The Walk” will be shown as part of the temporary exhibition “Exhibition of One Masterpiece”. Organisers will announce the exact opening date later, but the exhibition will take place during the Days<\/a> of the Russian Museum at the National Art Museum in April.<\/p>\n

Marc Chagall painted “The Walk” in 1917-1918. It serves as a reminder of his marriage to Bella, which they entered into in Vitsyebsk.<\/p>\n

“The Walk” was part of a triptych that also included two other works \u2014 “Double Portrait” and “Above the Town”. In the central painting, the artist stands on the ground while Bella floats above Vitsyebsk.<\/p>\n

All three paintings are now kept in different cities. “Above the Town” is in Moscow’s Tretyakov Gallery, “Double Portrait” is in the Centre Georges Pompidou museum in Paris, and “The Walk” is in the collection of the Russian Museum in St Petersburg.<\/p>\n
