A traffic police patrol signalled for an Audi driver to stop. He ignored the order, and a pursuit began.<\/p>\n<p><em><i>&#8220;The man ignored repeated lawful demands to stop, only increasing his speed and creating a real threat to the life and health of other road users. After warning that a weapon would be used, the inspector fired shots at the tyres&#8221;<\/i><\/em>, the Interior Ministry said.<\/p>\n<p>The driver turned out to be a 40-year-old resident of Mahilyou who had previously been stripped of his licence for drink-driving. Four administrative reports were drawn up against him. He is being held in a temporary detention facility.
