A Russian citizen lost his car after attempting to smuggle 13 liters of wine across the Belarusian border.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at the Benyakoni checkpoint. The man was traveling from Lithuania in a Dodge car. He submitted a passenger declaration for the temporary import of his vehicle but did not declare any other goods subject to declaration.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter inspecting the vehicle using scanning equipment, Hrodna customs officers decided to conduct a detailed search. As a result, eight bottles containing liquid were found in the luggage compartment, hidden behind plastic paneling,\u201d<\/i> the State Customs Committee said.<\/p>\n

An examination confirmed that the bottles contained wine. The alcohol and the vehicle were seized. Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the Russian citizen. A court will decide whether to confiscate the seized goods and the car.<\/p>\n
