Coale spoke about this after the talks.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;We also discussed a possible visit by President Lukashenka to the United States and will work on organising it,&#8221;<\/i> Coale was quoted as saying by Lukashenka\u2019s press service.<\/p>\n<p>Coale added that US President <b>Donald Trump<\/b> <i>&#8220;constantly speaks about President Lukashenka, describing him as a very good friend and a respected world leader.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The meeting also covered the situation in the Middle East. Lukashenka said that the United States <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/lukashenka-to-coale-my-view-on-the-middle-east-matters-to-you-as-you-are-fighting-against-our-friends\">is fighting against Belarus\u2019s allies<\/a>, stated that he is ready to adhere <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/lukashenka-says-belarus-ready-to-follow-agreements-with-us-on-political-prisoners\">to agreements on political prisoners<\/a>, and hinted at the possibility of <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/lukashenka-hints-to-coale-at-direct-air-link-with-the-united-states\">direct air links<\/a> with the United States.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that Lukashenka was among the first to sign a document on joining the Peace Council founded by Donald Trump. However, he did not attend the organisation\u2019s first in-person meeting. Lukashenka explained this by logistical difficulties.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;What, was I supposed to fly to Washington via South Africa because of these sanctions? If you wanted to see me there, resolve the issue so that I can fly there and back without problems,&#8221;<\/i> he said.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of him, Foreign Minister <b>Maksim Ryzhankou<\/b> was expected to attend the meeting, but he was also absent.
