Earlier, Belstat reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/belarus-gdp-falls-by-1-2-in-january-february\">GDP declined by 1.2%<\/a> compared with the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cThis result is largely driven by industrial performance: industrial output stood at 96.3%, decreasing by 0.3 percentage points compared with January. At the same time, certain sectors (energy, pharmaceuticals, food industry) showed steady growth,\u201d<\/i> the ministry said.<\/p>\n<p>Three sectors were identified as the main drivers of growth.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cThe key drivers of the economy in January\u2013February were information and communications (103.9%), transport (103.1%), and agriculture (102.7%).<\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>Growth in the IT sector is linked to an increase in demand for domestic software and a rise in employment.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the transport sector, passenger turnover showed strong growth \u2014 up 11.1%. New air routes have been launched.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Agricultural growth was supported by increased production of milk, poultry, pork, and cattle,\u201d<\/em> the press service added.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about foreign trade, the ministry highlighted an increase in exports of goods and services in January, calculated according to the balance of payments methodology, by 14.8%.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cCooperation with countries of the \u2018far arc\u2019 continued to expand. Exports to Latin America grew by 18.6%, while exports to East, South, and Central Asia increased by 1.5 times. Services exports are growing rapidly: in January 2026, they rose by 31.7%.
