The dynamics of Belarus\u2019s gross domestic product remained unchanged over the first two months of the year. In January\u2013February, GDP amounted to 43.9 billion rubles, which is 1.2% less than in the same period last year. The same rate of decline was recorded in January alone.<\/p>\n

The GDP deflator index in January\u2013February stood at 109.3%.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that according to the official socio-economic development forecast approved by Lukashenka, GDP is expected to grow by 2.8% over the year.<\/p>\n

Labor productivity measured by GDP in January decreased by 1.4% to 5,602.1 rubles.<\/p>\n

Agricultural output across all categories of farms in February amounted to 1.69 billion rubles, increasing by 2% compared with February last year. In agricultural organizations, it rose by 2.2% to 1.67 billion rubles. Over two months, production in all categories of farms grew by 2.8% to 3.63 billion rubles, and in agricultural organizations by 3% to 3.59 billion rubles.<\/p>\n

In February, agricultural organizations produced 142,700 tons of livestock and poultry, up 3.2% year-on-year, while milk production increased by 1.4% to 687,900 tons. In January\u2013February, livestock and poultry production rose by 3.9% to 298,900 tons, and milk production by 2.5% to 1.45 million tons.<\/p>\n

Industrial output in February amounted to 16.5 billion rubles. It declined by 4% in comparable prices compared with February 2025. Over two months, industrial production decreased by 3.7% to 33.14 billion rubles.<\/p>\n

Industrial inventories as of March 1 totaled 12.2 billion rubles. Compared with February 1, they increased by 156.77 million rubles. Inventory levels stood at 90.6% of average monthly production, rising by 1.6 percentage points over the month.<\/p>\n

Investment in fixed capital in February amounted to 3.4 billion rubles, decreasing by 3.3% year-on-year. Over two months, investment fell by 7.1% to 6.53 billion rubles.<\/p>\n

In February, 181,500 square meters of housing were commissioned, 29.5% less than a year earlier. Housing construction with state support declined by 20.7% to 30,100 square meters. Over two months, housing commissioning fell by 34.3% to 343,900 square meters, including a 17.5% decline in state-supported housing to 61,700 square meters.<\/p>\n

Freight turnover in January\u2013February decreased by 0.9% to 10.7 billion tonne-kilometers, while passenger transport increased by 0.8% to 274.7 million people.<\/p>\n

Retail turnover in February amounted to 7.68 billion rubles, rising by 2% compared with February 2025. Over two months, retail turnover increased by 1.6% to 15.63 billion rubles.<\/p>\n

Wholesale trade continued to decline. Wholesale turnover fell by 4.9% in February to 13.4 billion rubles and by 7% over two months to 25.74 billion rubles.<\/p>\n

Turnover in public catering in February decreased by 3.7% to 515.8 million rubles. Over two months, it declined by 3.4% to 1.085 billion rubles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
