In the final he recorded a time of 2:35.4, finishing 2.7 seconds ahead of his closest rival.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old Svirydzenka competed in the LW2\u2013LW9 category, which includes standing athletes with limb impairments.<\/p>\n<p>This year the International Paralympic Committee allowed athletes from Belarus and Russia to compete under the flags of their respective countries.
