Energy Minister Dzianis Maroz<\/b> held a meeting with Turkey\u2019s ambassador to Belarus G\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc Cem I\u015f\u0131k<\/strong>. The sides discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.<\/p>\n

During the talks, they considered cooperation in the gas industry, including the construction of networks and the production of equipment and metering devices, as well as supplies of peat products and goods derived from its deep processing. Maroz noted that Belarus extracts about 2 million tonnes of peat annually, which is used as fuel and as raw material for producing soil mixtures and agricultural products.<\/p>\n

The sides also discussed prospects for supplying peat products and processed peat materials to the Turkish market.<\/p>\n

The Turkish side was informed about the progress of modernization of Belarus\u2019 power grid infrastructure. In addition, the parties discussed the exchange of experience in the field of nuclear energy.<\/p>\n

Following the meeting, the sides agreed on an algorithm for further cooperation and confirmed their readiness to develop collaboration in all the areas discussed.<\/p>\n
