Prosecutors have opened a criminal case for causing minor bodily harm (Article 153 of the Criminal Code).<\/p>\n<p>The 36-year-old accused lived in Minsk with a woman and her nine-year-old son. The couple were preparing for their wedding and temporarily took the boy to his grandmother. The grandmother noticed bruises on the child\u2019s body. The boy said he had been beaten by his mother\u2019s partner. The man did not deny this and said that in May 2025 he struck the child with a belt at least four times *\u201cfor bad behavior,\u201d* the Minsk prosecutor\u2019s office reported.<\/p>\n<p>The blows caused multiple bruises, abrasions and hematomas on the child\u2019s buttocks, as well as bruising on his back and on the outer surface of his left thigh.<\/p>\n<p>The boy\u2019s mother refused to file a complaint seeking to hold her partner accountable.
