Russia declared its readiness to assist in the search for a peaceful solution.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Ministry also expressed condemnation that the strikes were carried out during an ongoing negotiation process. It warned of the risks of a <i>\u201chumanitarian, economic, and radiological catastrophe\u201d<\/i> in the Middle East and of the escalation of a <i>\u201cspiral of violence\u201d<\/i> in the region.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cThe grave consequences of these reckless steps for the global non-proliferation regime, the cornerstone of which is the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, are being openly ignored. At the same time, the US-Israeli tandem is hiding behind a feigned concern about preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
