Brest customs officers uncovered two cases of non-declaration of goods aimed at understating customs payments at the Kazlovichy border crossing, the Belarusian Customs Committee\u2019s press service reported.<\/p>\n

In the first case, a driver for a Polish carrier was declaring a consolidated shipment of kitchen equipment, meat-processing boilers and other goods. During inspection, nearly 58,000 undeclared items were found inside combi steamers and food preparation equipment \u2014 thermostats, electric motors, wiring and pressure sensors \u2014 with a total value of more than 514,000 roubles.<\/p>\n

In the second case, a truck was transporting polymer jars with screw caps, but nearly 490,000 caps were not listed in the documents. The value of the undeclared cargo amounted to around 260,000 roubles.<\/p>\n

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against both carriers under Part 1 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code. The sanction \u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0443\u0441\u043c\u0430\u0442\u0440\u0438\u0432\u0430\u0435\u0442 a fine of up to 30% of the value of the administrative offence, as well as payment of the due customs charges for the undeclared goods.<\/p>\n
