Flagshtok has learned that the dispute concerned a USSR flag.<\/p>\n<p>The USSR flag was hung above the entrance to the Russian House building next to the Russian flag in October 2025. This was an initiative of the \u201cHistorical Club\u201d affiliated with the Russian House, which is led by <b>Artem Sakovsky<\/b>, an odious propagandist of Stalinism and the \u201cRussian world\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This did not sit well with <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homyel<\/span> officials, who apparently would prefer to control the use of Soviet symbolism themselves.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the USSR flag was removed from the building\u2019s facade.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In early February, Alexander Morzhukhin, head of the Russian House in Homyel, accused local authorities of taking an unconstructive approach toward the organisation\u2019s activities, although the essence of the conflict remained unclear.
