{"id":520271,"date":"2026-02-24T12:22:02","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T09:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=520271"},"modified":"2026-02-24T13:29:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T10:29:07","slug":"uk-imposes-sanctions-on-transneft-and-nearly-300-other-entities-and-vessels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/uk-imposes-sanctions-on-transneft-and-nearly-300-other-entities-and-vessels","title":{"rendered":"UK Imposes Sanctions on Transneft and Nearly 300 Other Entities and Vessels"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>On the fourth anniversary of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United Kingdom announced its largest sanctions package against Russia to date.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cNearly 300\u202fnew\u202fsanctions\u202fannounced as UK cracks down on critical Russian energy revenues,\u202fincluding oil exports, and key suppliers of military equipment fuelling\u202fwar efforts,\u201d<\/i> the British government\u2019s press service <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/uk-announces-biggest-sanctions-package-against-russia-four-yearson-from-full-scale-invasionof-ukraine\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The list published today includes 297 entries: 240 legal entities, seven individuals, and 50 vessels.<\/p>\n<p>Sanctions have been imposed on PJSC Transneft, which operates one of the world\u2019s largest oil pipeline systems and ensures the transportation of more than 80 percent of Russia\u2019s oil exports. Transactions with Transneft are permitted until April 9. The lists also include 175 companies that are part of the 2Rivers oil network, one of the world\u2019s largest operators of a shadow fleet and a major trader of Russian crude oil. The sanctions package also covers 48 oil tankers from this fleet.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the measures affect 49 legal entities and individuals linked to supplies to Russia\u2019s military-industrial complex and armed forces, companies in the nuclear energy sector, vessels and infrastructure related to liquefied natural gas, as well as nine Russian banks, including Post Bank, Fora Bank, Ak Bars Bank, Tochka Bank, Absolut Bank, and Transcapitalbank, among others.<\/p>\n<p>The sanctioned legal entities are located not only in Russia, but also in the United Arab Emirates, Poland, China, Brazil, India, Georgia (Imedi TV and Postv), Thailand, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cThe UK\u202fhas today taken decisive\u202faction to\u202fdisrupt the\u202fcritical\u202ffinancing, military equipment\u202fand revenue streams that sustain Russia\u2019s aggression, in our largest raft of measures since the early months of the invasion.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Today I\u2019m in Kyiv announcing \u00a330 million in funding to strengthen Ukrainian energy resilience and support recovery, taking the total UK support to \u00a321.8 billion since the start of the war,\u201d<\/i> Foreign Secretary <strong>Yvette Cooper<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the fourth anniversary of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United Kingdom announced its largest sanctions package against Russia to date. \u201cNearly 300\u202fnew\u202fsanctions\u202fannounced as UK cracks down on critical Russian energy revenues,\u202fincluding oil exports, and key suppliers of military equipment fuelling\u202fwar efforts,\u201d the British government\u2019s press service said.
