{"id":519410,"date":"2026-02-20T14:49:44","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T11:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reform.news\/?p=519410"},"modified":"2026-02-20T15:18:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T12:18:29","slug":"general-staff-explains-when-reservists-may-be-exempted-from-military-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reform.news\/en\/general-staff-explains-when-reservists-may-be-exempted-from-military-training","title":{"rendered":"General Staff Explains When Reservists May Be Exempted From Military Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<p>The Ministry of Defence has explained in which cases reservists may be exempted from military training conducted as part of checks of combat and mobilisation readiness.<\/p>\n<p>According to <b>Yury Gantsieusky<\/b>, deputy head of a department of the Main Organisational and Mobilisation Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the time allowed to report to preliminary assembly points is minimal \u2014 sometimes less than 24 hours \u2014 and the duration of training may reach up to 60 days.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the grounds for exempting reservists from training are set out in Article 71 of the Law of Belarus \u201cOn Military Duty and Military Service\u201d and Article 17 of the Law \u201cOn Mobilisation Preparation and Mobilisation\u201d. Under Article 71, military commissars may exempt reservists from training in individual cases if there are valid reasons supported by documents.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cFor example, a minor child breaks an arm while sledding. At that time, the mother is away on a business trip. The father, who is a reservist, receives a summons to report for military training.
