An experiment to protect a critically important facility from drones of a mock adversary was conducted at one of the training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces in Belarus.<\/p>\n

According to the Belarusian Defense Ministry, the experiment consisted of several stages. During the first stage, personnel practiced countering fixed-wing drones; during the second, quadcopter-type drones; and during the third, the effectiveness of passive protection elements was assessed.<\/p>\n

As stated by Air Force and Air Defense Forces Commander Andrei Lukyanovich<\/b>, 59 different systems took part in the trials \u2014 ranging from detection and suppression equipment to target destruction systems. In addition, passive protection measures were deployed around two facilities to test their effectiveness.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to note that more than 80% of the systems presented at today\u2019s experiment are of Belarusian production, which we assessed today, including at the final stage. Overall, this experiment has been conducted since February 4. We were able to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness and confirm the declared characteristics of all systems. Based on the results of the experiment, we identified the most effective means, and following the analysis of this experiment, a system for countering unmanned aerial vehicles and protecting critically important facilities will be established.<\/i><\/p>\n

The most effective means include radar stations, electronic warfare systems, and UAV destruction systems, including those operating on new physical principles \u2014 laser-based systems \u2014 as well as effective weapons for mobile fire groups,\u201d<\/i> he said.<\/p>\n
