A citizen of Belarus was killed when a Mi-8 helicopter crashed at Matan as-Sarra air base in southern Libya on February 9. The helicopter, which was performing a medical evacuation flight, crashed while approaching for landing. There were five people on board.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to one of my subscribers, the right-seat pilot on the medical evacuation flight was a Belarusian citizen identified as A. M., while the aircraft commander was a Russian citizen S. P. (who previously served in the same regiment as my subscriber). Two medical workers and the patient being transported were also killed,\u201d<\/i> the Telegram channel \u201cOtVinta\u201d reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Libyan media, the helicopter was evacuating a wounded serviceman. Al-Wasat named<\/a> three of the deceased \u2014 two Libyan soldiers and a male nurse.<\/p>\n
