Talks are taking place in Belarus between Ukraine\u2019s ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets<\/b> and Russia\u2019s human rights commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova<\/b>.<\/p>\n

According to Moskalkova, since the start of the Russian Armed Forces\u2019 operation in Russia\u2019s Kursk region, which began in August 2024, 165 civilian residents of the Kursk region have been moved to Ukraine. As of today, 10 people remain there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI made it clear that our civilian citizens will not become a subject of bargaining in the negotiation process. Their return home is the number one item on the agenda. We handed over letters to prisoners of war. We are carrying out active work in all areas of humanitarian issues,\u201d<\/i> the Russian ombudsman said.<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that today Ukraine and Russia carried out their first prisoner exchange of the year, in a 157-for-157 format. The exchange took place via the territory of Belarus.<\/p>\n
