Head of the United Transitional Cabinet Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya<\/b> visited a Belarusian shelter for former political prisoners in Warsaw. During the visit, she met with the shelter\u2019s founder, former political prisoner and co-founder of the \u201cPrytuliai Mianie\u201d foundation Hanna Fiadaronak<\/strong>, familiarized herself with the shelter\u2019s conditions, and spoke with its residents.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the current needs of the project and possibilities for its further support were discussed. Former political prisoners shared their experiences of imprisonment and conditions of detention in Belarusian prisons. Tsikhanouskaya\u2019s team provided the shelter with essential household items.<\/p>\n

The Belarusian shelter in Warsaw offers temporary safe housing for people released from prisons and forced to start their lives anew. Accommodation is provided for up to two months, along with basic humanitarian and food assistance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very important that people who have gone through prisons are not left alone once they regain their freedom. After imprisonment, they need not only safety, but also human support, understanding, time, and space to regain strength and begin a new stage of life. Thank you to everyone who creates and supports the shelter. Your work gives hope and helps people feel that they are not alone on the path to recovery,\u201d<\/i> the leader of the democratic forces said.<\/p>\n
