The decision by the KGB is dated 15 January. Today it was added to the relevant list maintained by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cA group of citizens forming the extremist formation \u2018Free Belarus Center\u2019 is engaged in extremist activity,\u201d<\/i> the decision states.<\/p>\n<p>Free Belarus Center is an independent civic initiative created to ensure an international response to repression and to provide humanitarian support to people forced to leave Belarus. After the events of 2020, the centre assisted Belarusian activists in Kyiv. In 2022, it opened an office in Warsaw. The centre now operates in two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Interior Ministry\u2019s list indicates that <strong>Marta Skuharava<\/strong>, <strong>Alvina Minhazava<\/strong>, <b>Palina Brodzik<\/b>, and <strong>Ivan Marozka<\/strong>\u00a0are associated with the centre. The list also includes accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, and YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>Free Belarus Center became the 325th organisation to be designated an \u201cextremist formation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, extremism charges are used in Belarus to combat opponents of <b>Alyaksandr Lukashenka<\/b> and dissent in general.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Free Belarus Center has been recognised as an \u201cextremist formation\u201d.
