Kanstantsin Bychak<\/b>, former head of the KGB Investigative Directorate and appointed today as chairman of the Investigative Committee, has been promoted in rank. By a decree signed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka<\/b> on December 23, he was awarded the rank of major general, the Investigative Committee press service reported.<\/p>\n

State Secretary of the Security Council Alyaksandr Valfovich<\/b> presented Bychak with his shoulder boards and introduced him to the staff of the Investigative Committee.<\/p>\n

\u201cKanstantsin Fyodaravich\u2019s professional career has been closely connected with investigative work; he knows all its nuances from the inside. I am confident that he will approach service in the Investigative Committee with the necessary level of responsibility and understanding,\u201d<\/i> Valfovich<\/span> said.<\/p>\n
